Two killed as Duster, Alto collide

MOHALI: Two persons were killed and four others injured in a collision between a Duster and an Alto car at Spice Chowk in the Industrial Area last night.

Two persons were killed and four others injured in a collision between a Duster and an Alto car at Spice Chowk in the Industrial Area last night.

SHO of the Phase I police station Naveen Pal Singh Lehal said today that the collision took place around 11 pm when the Alto car, in which six persons were travelling, was coming from ESI Hospital in the Phase VII Industrial Area and the Duster from the Balongi side. He said two persons in the Alto car died while four others sustained injuries.  

He said a case in this regard had been registered on a statement of Rajinder, nephew of the deceased, under Sections 279, 337, 427 and 304 of the IPC. He said Rajesh (43) died on the way to the hospital  while Babloo (40) succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Those who sustained injuries were Rajinder, Sharda, Rita Devi and Ankush. The  Duster also got damaged in the accident. The driver fled from the spot, leaving the vehicle behind.
