Two more cylinder blast victims dead

PANCHKULA:Two more victims of the cylinder blast in Sector 10 here have succumbed to burns at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, taking the death toll to three.

Two more victims of the cylinder blast in Sector 10 here have succumbed to burns at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, taking the death toll to three. 

Ram Chander Sharma (70), who retired from the Punjab State Electricity Board as senior accountant, died at the GMCH, Sector 32. He was a resident of House No. 701 in Sector 10. Sharma’s relatives alleged that he was not provided with a ventilator at the hospital. 

Ajit Chaudhary (38), the owner of House No. 702, where the blast took place on October 18, also died. According to information, Chaudhary was recovering but his condition worsened after 

he heard the news of Sharma’s death today. Earlier, he was seen apologising to other victims for landing them in trouble. Chaudhary worked at an IT firm. 

On October 20, Hem Raj Sharma (70), a retired principal of Government School in Zirakpur, had died. He was a resident of House Number 704 in Sector 10. Ajit Chaudhary had gone to market with his wife and children on October 18 evening when he was informed about leakage of cooking gas at his house.  The cylinder exploded as soon as he opened the door of the house. A total of eight persons, including a woman, had suffered injuries in the blast. 

House owner ‘dies of shock’

Ajit Chaudhary, owner of the house where blast took place, was recovering but his condition worsened after he heard the news of Sharma’s death. Earlier, he was seen apologising to other victims for landing them in trouble.
