Two snatchers held, five chains recovered

The local police have nabbed two men involved in snatching incidents here.

Dilshad and Vicky, both natives of Uttar Pradesh, confessed that they were involved in two snatchings in Sector 11 and one each in Sectors 4 and 9 and Pinjore. They used a Pulsar motorcycle to execute their nefarious designs and all snatched items were recovered from them.

Vicky was arrested by the CIA-1 in 2007 when he had confessed to nine snatchings. He, along with others, had been involved in 32- 33 snatchings in Panchkula between 2011 and 2016 and chains worth Rs 16-Rs17 lakh were recovered from him. Vicky had been declared a proclaimed offender in five cases. The arrested duo used to target women on the pretext of asking way to some place. The police have recovered a total of five gold chains from the accused (three of these weigh 20 gm each while one weighs 15 gm and another 12 gm).
