Chandigarh, September 4

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Chandigarh on September 11 will be held at the exhibition ground in Sector 34.

The PM’s rally will be hosted by the UT Administration, not the BJP. Sources said the entire expenditure on the rally will be borne by the Administration. A consensus in this regard was reached at a meeting between the Administration and BJP leaders from Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.

Chandigarh BJP president Sanjay Tandon said they held meetings with UT Adviser Vijay Kumar Dev and Punjab and Haryana Governor-cum-UT Administrator Kaptan Singh Solanki today in connection with the preparations for the PM’s rally on September 11. The sources said the rally would be held at 12 noon. Besides Modi, only the Punjab and Haryana CMs will speak on the occasion.

Modi’s 2nd rally in Sec 34

It will be Modi’s second rally in Sector 34. Last year, Modi had addressed an election rally at Sector 34 in favour of Kirron Kher, the BJP candidate for the Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat.
