UT officers condemn assault on Delhi CS

CHANDIGARH: The IAS, IPS, IFS, PCS, HCS and all other officers working in the UT Administration today strongly condemned the assault on Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash by ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs at the residence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, where he had gone for a meeting, late on Monday night.

The IAS, IPS, IFS, PCS, HCS and all other officers working in the UT Administration today strongly condemned the assault on Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash by ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs at the residence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, where he had gone for a meeting, late on Monday night.

In a joint statement, UT Adviser Parimal Rai, Home Secretary Anurag Agarwal, Finance Secretary Ajoy Kumar Sinha, DIG OP Mishra, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Gupta, Chief Conservator of Forests Santosh Kumar, Chief Engineer Mukesh Anand and Director, Social Welfare, Nishu Singhal said, “We condemn the criminal act of assault committed by the MLAs of the Delhi Assembly on the Chief Secretary of Delhi.”

“The assault on the Chief Secretary in the presence of the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister is reprehensive and attack on the independence and neutrality of the civil service,” the UT officers stated.

The UT officers affirmed their total support to Delhi IAS, DANICS and DASS associations in their struggle for justice. “The officers demand speedy legal action against the perpetrators of this criminal act,” Gupta, who is also the president of PCS Officers’ Association, told The Tribune. — TNS
