Vigilance sleuths seize documents

Chandigarh, June 10

UT Vigilance sleuths today seized documents from the Registering and Licensing Authority (RLA) office in Sector 17 following a complaint that forged documents were submitted to get a vehicle registered.

According to the complaint received by the Vigilance Department, fake documents were submitted by a person to get a vehicle registered. Based on the complaint, a Vigilance team visited the RLA office and seized the documents.

Sukhraj Katewa, DSP (Vigilance), said the probe into the complaint received by them was at the preliminary stage. “The documents regarding the registration of the vehicle have been seized, which are being verified,” the DSP said.

Sources said the person who had submitted the documents would be asked to join the investigation after verifying these. The sources said the RLA staff was also under the scanner. — TNS
