Waiter’s body found in Sukhna Lake

CHANDIGARH: The body of a 22-year-old waiter was found floating in Sukhna Lake on Tuesday morning.

The body of a 22-year-old waiter was found floating in Sukhna Lake on Tuesday morning. The police suspect it to be a case of suicide.

Visitors saw the body floating in the lake around 11 am following which the police were informed. The body was taken out and shifted to the mortuary at the GMSH, Sector 16. The police said the victim had been identified as Rajesh Kumar, a native of Kullu district, who worked as waiter at the DRDO guest house in Sector 24.

The police said the body did not have any injury marks and it appeared to be a case of suicide though no suicide note was found from the spot.

The victim’s kin were informed about the incident. Inquest proceedings have been initiated in the matter at the Sector 3 police station.
