Kalka, August 20
Due to heavy rain in upper reaches of the Himalayas, the water level in the Kaushalya Dam has gone up, just a meter below the danger level. Sources in the Irrigation Department revealed that access water would be released and its information would be given to the Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula, police and the MC.
Sources added that two years ago, five cusecs of water was released in the Ghaggar. Notably, the dam has six gates and can retain 450 cusecs of water. — OC
