Unidentified miscreant(s)  posted a threat letter titled, “warning, warning, warning”, along with a cartridge, addressed to a Junior Engineer (JE) of the Waterworks Department, Angrej Singh, in Sector 26. The letter was posted at the complaint centre of the department. The police have lodged a DDR and have begun investigations.

The incident was reported to the police at 2 pm today. The letter was found by the office clerk when he opened the door at 1.30 pm after he returned from lunch.

BK Dhawan, Executive Engineer, Public Health Division-III, UT, said he was informed by the staff about the letter. A letter threatening Angrej and a live bullet in an envelope was slid under the door of the JE’s office. The envelope was titled “warning warning warning” and a bullet was attached with a red tape on the envelope.

The police said the bullet was being examined to establish its make.

The police suspect it could be the handiwork of some mischievous elements who “are frustrated with the low water pressure in their area”.

In his complaint to police, JE Angrej Singh reported that he had no rivalry with anyone.

The police have registered a case of threatening and under the Arms Act against an unidentified person at the Sector 26 police station.
