Windowpanes of 4 cars smashed

In three incidents, windowpanes of four cars were reportedly smashed by unknown miscreants in different parts of the city on Saturday night. 

Sources said the rear glass of two cars parked near the gurdwara in Sector 8 was smashed. The police received a similar complaint that a windowpane of a car parked in the inner market of Sector 7 was smashed by someone. 

The third incident was reported from Sector 26. Sources said the windowpane of a car was broken while it was parked outside a showroom in Sector 26.

 The complainant reported that the accused stole a purse containing Rs 2,000 from the car. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter. The footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area is being scrutinised to identify the accused.
