CBSE XII: Govt schools’ report card

Chandigarh: Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Model Housing Complex, Mani Majra, and GSSS, Sector 16, have yet again proved that why these schools are considered to be one of the most sought-after government schools of the region. MHC, Mani Majra, and Sector 16 Model School, stood atop among 39 government schools of the city with a pass percentage of 99.54 per cent and 98.21 per cent respectively. GMSSS-35 stood third with pass percentage of 95.96%. Out of five, two toppers (among the government schools) are from Sector 16 and MHC schools, while one student of Sector 37-B school topped the exams. GMSSS, Sector 38 (West) hit a new low with only 30.4 per cent result. Out of 362 students, only 110 managed to clear the exam, while 149 failed to clear the exam . As many as 103 students got compartment. There was a shoddy performance by students of GMSSS-56. Out of 114 students, only 45 students managed to clear the exams, while 23 failed and 46 got compartment. TNS
