Woman dies as tempo overturns

CHANDIGARH:A 60-year-old woman was killed after a tempo hit a car on the road separating Sectors 7 and 19 yesterday.

A 60-year-old woman was killed after a tempo hit a car on the road separating Sectors 7 and 19 yesterday.

 According to the police, Om Parkash, a resident of Nayagaon, complained that his car was hit from the rear side by the tempo around 9.30 am.

The tempo overturned, leaving its driver Irfan, passengers Kishore Kumar and a woman, Anjala, all residents of Maloya, injured.  Anjala was rushed to the PGI, where she succumbed to her injuries. The other two were admitted to the GMSH, Sector 16. A case has been registered against the tempo driver at the Sector 26 police station. — TNS
