Woman dies in freak mishap

LALRU: In a freak incident, a 57-year-old woman died after her stole got entangled in the fan of a generator at Handesera village here today.

In a freak incident, a 57-year-old woman died after her stole got entangled in the fan of a generator at Handesera village here today. The deceased has been identified as Roshni Devi, a resident of Bartana village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Handesera police chowki.

According to police sources, the incident occurred when Roshni Devi, along with her son, had gone to the State Bank of Patiala branch at Handesera to withdraw money. The sources said as she was about to enter the bank, her stole got entangled in the fan of the generator kept outside the bank, strangling her. She was rushed to the Civil Hospital, Ambala, but died on the way. The body was handed to her family members after a postmortem.

The victim’s son has lodged a complaint regarding negligence by the bank authorities. A case has been registered under Section 304-A of the IPC at the Handesera police chowki.
