Woman dies of burn injuries, husband held

NABHA:A 23-year-old woman Rajni, a resident of Chhajubhat village in Nabha, who sustained 80 per cent burn injuries and was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh, succumbed to burn injuries on Tuesday morning.

A 23-year-old woman Rajni, a resident of Chhajubhat village in Nabha, who sustained 80 per cent burn injuries and was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh, succumbed to burn injuries on Tuesday morning.

The police after regestering case under Section 302 of the IPC have arrested her husband, Major Singh. However, the other accused Major Singh’s brother and his wife and mother-in-law were yet to be arrested. 

Victim Rajni’s father, Ashok Kumar, had complained to the police that he had received a phone call from an unknown person, who told him that his daughter had been admitted to Civil Hospital due to burn injuries on June 16.—TNS
