Woman gets 10-year jail

Chandigarh: A local court on Wednesday awarded 10-year jail to a 41-year-old woman for possessing 20 banned injections. Rani, a resident of Sector 52, will also pay a fine of Rs 1 lakh. The incident dates back to November 16 last year when Rani was heading towards Kajheri at 3 pm where the police had laid a naka. On seeing the cops, Rani tried to change her route. However, the police nabbed her. They recovered 20 injections of Buprenorphine from her. She was arrested on the spot and a case under Section 22 of the NDPS Act registered against her. TNS
