Woman killed in road mishap in Mohali

MOHALI: A middle-aged woman (45) died in a road accident when her Honda Activa scooter collided with a motorcycle on the Aero City road at Sector 69 here this morning.

A middle-aged woman (45) died in a road accident when her Honda Activa scooter collided with a motorcycle on the Aero City road at Sector 69 here this morning.

The victim, identified as Kuldeep Kaur, a resident of Sector 52, was also with her 17-year-old son of at the time of incident. Her son sustained injuries, said the police.

The police said the victim suffered head injury as her head hit the road. “She died on the spot. She was taken to Guru Harkishan Charitable Hospital at Sohana, where she was declared brought dead”, said Sub-Inspector Amarbir Singh, Station House Officer of the Phase VIII police station.

Following the incident, the motorcycle rider took the mother-son duo to the hospital.

“The family of the victim did not lodge any complaint with us so no action has been initiated against any person so far”, said Sub-Inspector Amarbir Singh.
