A workshop on the topic, “Digital India – Highway for Transforming Education”, was held on Saturday. The workshop focused on the use of information and communication technology in education and digital marketing.
Resource persons of the workshop were Gurmail Dhaliwal, vice-president, Hounslow Chamber of Commerce, UK; Nick Thompson, director, IndieCo Marketing, Australia; and Gulsham Sharma, director general, International Chamber for Service Industry, New Delhi. “Digital India is the backbone of digital learning for the youth of India. Online learning is not only helping students strengthen their knowledge-base but is also bringing deprived students within the fold of higher education,” said Gurmail Dhiman.
The workshop hosted a technical session on the role of the digital technology and innovation in education, integrated online education, enhancing the role of a teacher as a counselor, facilitator, motivator, mentor in higher education.
Principals, counsellors and service industry entrepreneurs participated in the workshop. As many as 10 eminent people from airlines, tourism, hospitality and media and entertainment industry were honored for their outstanding contribution to the industry in the tricity.
