CHANDIGARH: The body of a 25-year-old youth with a bullet injury was found under mysterious circumstances at Sector 20 on Monday evening.

Chandigarh, May 21

The body of a 25-year-old youth with a bullet injury was found under mysterious circumstances at Sector 20 on Monday evening.

Sources said the police received information around 7.30 pm about the body lying near a school in Sector 20-D, following which a PCR vehicle rushed to the spot.

The police found the victim with a bullet injury after which he was shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, where doctors declared him brought dead. The victim had a bullet injury on his stomach.

The police said a bag containing a pistol was found at the spot, which had been taken into custody. Two mobile phones were also found near the body. UT SSP Nilambari Jagdale Vijay visited the spot. The police said the victim had been identified as Pushpinder, a resident of Sangrur, Punjab. The police said they got to know that the victim was taking coaching for IELTS in the city. However, they were verifying it.

The victim’s family was informed about the incident.

The police scrutinised the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area. A case has been registered.—TNS
