Nabha, June 20
A 19-year-old youth, who was missing for the past two days from Nabha, committed suicide by jumping into the Mahorana canal, near Malerkotla town.
The deceased has been identified as Rajnikant Dubey, a native of Uttar Pradesh. The body of the boy was fished out of the canal by divers and taken to the Civil Hospital in Malerkotla for post-mortem.
Later, the police handed over the body to the family after the doctors conducted the post-mortem.
The victim’s uncle told the police that Rajnikant was mentally upset for the past few months. He said the boy had been missing from his house for the past two days and they had been searching for him. A case has been registered.
