Youth’s murder: 2 juveniles among four arrested

CHANDIGARH: The Chandigarh Police have arrested four persons, including two juveniles, for the murder of a 24-year-old youth, who was stabbed to death at Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, on Saturday night.

The Chandigarh Police have arrested four persons, including two juveniles, for the murder of a 24-year-old youth, who was stabbed to death at Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, on Saturday night.

Vicitm Pawan Sahu, a resident of Vikas Nagar, who used to work as a cook at a private hotel in Panchkula, was returning from work on a cycle when the accused stopped him near the Community Centre. The victim was thrashed and stabbed on his chest, leading to his death.

The police said the accused, identified as Raju (19), Rahul (20) and two juveniles, all residents of Vikas Nagar, were arrested in the case. 

The police said during investigation, the footage of close-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed near the crime scene was analysed following which the suspects were questioned, which led to the arrest of the accused. 

A police official said the juveniles had been sent to a Juvenile Home while the other two accused would be produced in the court on Tuesday. 

“We will seek their remand to recover the weapon used in the crime,” said the police official.
