1 booked for abetting suicide

Amritsar: The police have booked a person for allegedly forcing his wife to commit suicide. The accused has been identified as Rakesh Kumar alias Raju. Victim’s brother Kuldip Kumar said she was married to the accused 18 years ago and she was being harassed since then. She consumed some poisonous substance yesterday to end her life. Bus crushes beggar

Amritsar: An “overspeeding” bus of District Transport Company crushed an unidentified beggar to death at Bhandari Bridge on Saturday. The bus driver, Tarjit Singh of Ajnala, has been arrested. Sub-Inspector Gulshan Lal said the victim was crossing the road.  The driver was later released on bail. The case is under investigation. TNS
