12-year-old raped, youth booked

A 12-year-old girl has allegedly been raped by a youth in Hussainpura. The accused has been identified as Sikander. He is a former tenant of the complainant’s grandmother.

According to information, the victim has been living with her grandmother since the demise of her parents.

The victim alleged that the accused had been raping her for the past several days. The incident came to light when the victim told about it to her friend who later informed her mother. Her mother informed the grandmother of the victim. The accused had also threatened her to keep mum, the police said.

Victim’s grandmother has kept several families as tenants at her house for making her both ends meet. Sikander used to live on rent at the house earlier. At present, his brother resides in the same accommodation.

The police said a case was registered and her medical examination would be conducted tomorrow. — TNS
