2 robbers held

AMRITSAR: The Kotwali police have nabbed two Tarn Taran residents, who were reportedly planning to break open an ATM in Hall gate area.

The Kotwali police have nabbed two Tarn Taran residents, who were reportedly planning to break open an ATM in Hall gate area. Those arrested have been identified as Ranjit Singh alias Saggu and Jasbir Singh, both residents of Varnal Patti Chandigarh village in Tarn Taran.

A country-made pistol, a big hammer, a dagger and a sharp-edged weapon have been seized. Their motorcycle bearing number PB-46-9834 has also been impounded, the police said.

Satnam Singh, investigating officer, said they were produced in the court which sent them to two-day police remand. The accused were nabbed from RS Tower area near Town Hall by a police patrolling party. — TNS
