3 killed in mishaps

TARN TARAN: Three persons died in different mishaps here today. In the first incident, Sukhmanpreet Singh (21) was killed after a gun went off accidentally at his house in Mohalla Guru Ka Khooh.

Three persons died in different mishaps here today.

In the first incident, Sukhmanpreet Singh (21) was killed after a gun went off accidentally at his house in Mohalla Guru Ka Khooh. The deceased was the .315 bore gun when the mishap took place. The licenced gun belongs to his father Dilbag Singh. The police have registered a case. In the second incident, Gurmel Singh (40) of Kad Gill village was killed after his cycle was hit by a car on the highway near Kaler village, seven km from here. The driver of Innova fled after the mishap.

The Sadar police have  registered a case under Sections 304-A, 279 and 427 of the IPC against the driver of the Innova car (PB-02-DL-6700). 

Another body was found near Kadgill village on the highway in the morning hours today. ASI Baljit Singh, Investigation Officer (IO), said the deceased was crushed by some unknown vehicle. Later, the body was run over by several vehicles. A case has been registered.

Meanwhile, an ailing person, may be a beggar, who was spotted by passersby on a road and admitted to the Civil Hospital three days ago, died at the Amritsar Civil Hospital. The deceased appears to be around 50-year-old. Assistant Sub-Inspector  Gurbakhshish Singh said a report under Section 174 of the CrPC.
