4 booked for firing

Five residents of Bhai Ladhu village have been booked in connection with a firing incident which occurred four days ago in the village.

ASI Satnam Singh said the accused had been identified as Harpreet Singh, his brother Gurchet Singh, Sukhdev Singh, his brother Taresm Singh and Gurbhej Singh of the same village. Victim Gurdial Singh told the police that the accused had been creating disturbance in the village and being sarpanch’s relative, he had been raising objections over their activities.

“In a fit of rage, they opened fire at me and also threatened to kill me,” he said. Sections 336, 341, 506, 148, 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) have been slapped on the accused, the police said.
