All that glitters is gold on Dhanteras

After a slow and a bit disappointed weekend ahead of Diwali, customers return in good numbers to buy gold ornaments on Dhanteras today.

Pankaj Khurana, proprietor of a leading gold showroom on Mall Road, said the sale of ornaments was impressive.

He said customers came out in good numbers and with full confidence to buy gold.

Khurana said from centuries, gold has been a good investment and it continued to remain so in this part of the world.

Jaspal Singh Kanda, another showroom owner in Guru Bazar area of the Walled City, said the response of customers was encouraging.

He said people from all sections of society came to buy gold as per their spending capacity.

He added that since the government lifted the restriction of quoting PAN number up to Rs two lakh limit, the flow of customers returned to the market.
