As an artist he feels inspired from even simplest of beings or happenings. Only this time city-based artist and designer got inspired from ants. His latest art installation based on the theme of ants in search of something, was displayed at exhibition in Punjab Kala Bhawan. What’s interesting is that his creation found a way of getting under spotlight on the ramp of Lakme Fashion Week.

While giving details Sumeet Dua said, “My art work titled In search of…was noticed by Jalandhar-based fashion designer Puneet Arora, who is a product of the NIFT, Delhi. He has been experimenting with ants and other bugs images to create patterns for his new collection.”

He said, “Arora was impressed by my work. He will use it in his new line for men and women wear to be showcased in spring/summer edition of Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai.”

Meanwhile, Dua’s work got a lot of attention for its details at the annual art exhibition, which showcases selective works from across Punjab.

“The idea of this 3D installation is to depict the struggle of humans, who strive for something better in life. Ants were created from wood and wire. The work was finished inside a wooden frame with fishing thread,” he added

He said, “The 5x5 feet 3D installation uses the technique for the first time.”

Earlier, Dua made architectural murals and abstracts for National Police Academy, Hyderabad.
