Avnish Khosla, a leader of the All India Secretary of a Banking Trade Union, has accused Punjab National Bank (PNB) of making a few officials at the lower level scapegoats in the scam of Rs 11,400 crore that left the country rattled two days ago.

In a press release issued here today, he claimed that there were six higher designations in the hierarchy, and above that, there were directors. “Then there are controlling administrative offices and then RBI above all. Such bodies have full-fledged infrastructure to monitor and control the transactions of such a huge volume,” the union stated.

He questioned why the transactions were not tallied or caught at the RBI level seeing balance of payment statements and why the CBI was not questioning RBI authorities?

“Nobody is investigating that who gave the tip to Nirav Modi to escape from the country,” the union stated.
