Amritsar: Poonam Mahajan, chief of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), paid obeisance at Golden Temple on Friday. Addressing leaders of the state at the district BJP office, she said that she had visited the shrine in 2012 before the start of her political career. Now, she sought blessings for the victory of her party in the next general elections, she added. TNS
Snatcher arrested
The Khilchian police have arrested a snatcher, Princepal Singh, a resident of Butari village. Jasbir Kaur of Nagoke village in Tarn Taran has complained to the police that the accused snatched her purse containing Rs 5,000 and some valuables yesterday when she was waiting for her nephew near a school in Khilchian. The police registered a case under Section 379-B of the IPC. Further investigation is underway, the police said. TNS
