Maadho Music, a Canada-based music academy, is all set to provide free training on kirtan to girls of the Bhai Dharam Singh Khalsa Charitable Trust, an orphanage. The music academy has decided to allocate ‘daswand’, 10 per cent of the fee received from its students in Canada and America, to pay for the musical instruments and teachers’ salaries. Maadho Music is a kirtan training academy started in 2017 in Toronto, Canada, by Ravinder Kaur Tuli, wife of Suneet Singh Tuli, CEO, Datawind, and Bhai Anantvir Singh.

Ravinder Kaur Tuli said, “Our music academy chose this place as we were inspired by the sewa of Bibi Sandeep Kaur who runs the girls orphanage.”

“Music will help the girls in their mental and spiritual growth. Most of them will get training and opportunity to teach as music teachers and have a chance to become professional kirtanees. Learning to sing or play an instrument will empower them to be self-reliant for future,” said Bhai Anantvir Singh.

Suneet Singh Tuli also donated Datawind tablets to the girls to introduce them different apps that teach theory of classical music. The academy also gave musical instruments required in the training.
