The Congress candidate from Ward No. 48 alleged that some miscreants allegedly associated with a local BJP leader threw stones at his neighbour’s house, mistaking his house and damaged the windshield of his car last night. The Congress candidate, Iqbal Singh Sherry, alleged that four unidentified persons threw bricks on a house similar to his house in the same street. The accused were abusing him. But under the influence of alcohol, they targeted his neighbours’ house.

“I returned home around 1:30 am after campaigning in the area. I got a call around 3:30 am from the owner of Ram Karyana Store that some persons were abusing me under the influence of liquor. They threw bricks at his residence, mistaking it to be my house. The accused fled before I reacheded there”, said Sherry.

“Today morning, we collected the CCTV footage from a camera installed outside the house and identified four persons, namely Hardeep Singh, AP Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Monu Bhatia associated with a BJP local leader”, he added.

On the complaint of the Congress candidate, the police has registered a case against the suspects and are investigating the matter.
