Car stolen on pistol point, found abandoned

AMRITSAR: Four young unidentified persons stole a car from a doctor at pistol point from near Beant Park in the Ranjit Avenue area here late last evening.

Four young unidentified persons stole a car from a doctor at pistol point from near Beant Park in the Ranjit Avenue area here late last evening. However, the police later found the car abandoned on Loharaka Road within hours of the incident.

Dr Puneet Kumar complained that after his evening walk at Beant Park, he was about to sit in his Wokeswagen Zeta-make car when a youth came out of a white-coloured car parked at the spot. The accused pointed a pistol at him, pulled him out and fled away with the car. He immediately called the police which registered a case under Sections 379-B, 34, IPC, and Sections 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Act against unidentified persons.

Nishan Singh, in charge, Ranjit Avenue police chowki, said the car was later found abandoned on Loharaka Road. He said further investigations were under progress to identify the culprits.
