Computer teachers hold protest

AMRITSAR: Members of the Computer Teachers Union of Punjab held a protest outside the office of the Deputy Commissioner here today against the state government for deploying them on election duty.

Members of the Computer Teachers Union of Punjab held a protest outside the office of the Deputy Commissioner here today against the state government for deploying them on election duty.

Aman Kumar and Parminder Singh, president and general secretary of the union, respectively, stated that all computer teachers, who were working in government schools, had been deployed on duties related to linking aadhaar card with voter ID cards. They said it would adversely impact the imparting of education in classrooms. Teachers were appointed to teach in schools, but every time during elections, they were humiliated by giving duties of data entry operators, they added.
