The Congress leader, Vaneet Mahajan, has objected to the candidature of Cabinet Minister Anil Joshi by claiming that the Election Commission of India had held him and his family guilty of forging votes and the entire matter was pending before the larger bench of the apex court.

He shot a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner in which he urged him to direct the CEO, Punjab, for not accepting Joshi’s candidature following accusations of forging votes for contesting the elections in 2012.

Joshi, however, said all petitions filed by complainants were quashed by the Supreme Court as well as the High Court. He said, “Now, they have filed a review petition, which is yet to be accepted by the court.”
