Construction workers from various organizations, under the banner of Punjab Usari Mazdoor Sanjha Manch, organised a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here today.

The organisations presented a memorandum to officials regarding their demands. Dharam Singh Patti, Sukhdev Singh Gohalwar and Sukhdev Singh Kot, representatives of the organisations condemned the government for creating hurdles in the implementation of the rules meant for the welfare of workers.

The leaders demanded for shifting the office of the Labour Department from Amritsar to here so that it is easy for them to approach the office. The workers also shouted slogans against the state government.
