Discussion on employment generation

The regional office of the Textile Commissioner, a unit of Ministry of Textiles, organised a session on special package for employment generation and promotion of exports in apparel and garments sector in association with the Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO).

Iqbal Ahmad, deputy director and office in charge, Regional Office of Textile Commissioner, gave a brief introduction of textile industry, present scenario and the scheme being implemented by the local office. He apprised industrialists about the package for apparels approved by the Cabinet on June 22 last year.

He also updated industrialists about various schemes including the TUFF and the Capital Incentive subsidy (CIS).

Gaurav Gupta, chapter head, FIEO, Amritsar, discussed upcoming events with industrialists. He also urged exporters to participate more in such events. Piara Lal Seth, general secretary, Shawl Club, and Kamal Dalmia appreciated the Regional office for organising the programme. — TNS
