The District Election Office (DEO) organised training for government employees assigned poll duties for the upcoming Assembly elections at the 11 constituencies in the district today.
Technical experts educated the staff about the use of electronic voting machines (EVM) and other technicalities, which they might face on the polling day. Electoral registration officer and assistant registration officers of the constituencies concerned were also present during the training session.
The District Election Office stated that booth level officers and the staff from 1970 polling booths of the constituencies in the district were present during the training.
Addressing the polling staff for the Amritsar (North) constituency at the Government Medical College here today, Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-electoral registration officer, Ravinder Singh said the polling staff must be prepared to learn technical details associated with the election process as it would be essential for conduct of smooth elections.
