Four held for kidnapping

AMRITSAR: The City police arrested four persons for allegedly thrashing and kidnapping a teenager from the Ram Tirath Road area.

The City police arrested four persons for allegedly thrashing and kidnapping a teenager from the Ram Tirath Road area.

Those arrested were identified as Kawaljit Singh of Sultanwind village, Juvnain Joel Anwar, Juvnain Noel, alias Bobby, and Juvnaian Paras. They have been booked under Sections 365, 323, IPC, in this regard.

Newton Kesar, a resident of Ram Tirath Road, complained to the police that he along with his wife and son Rohan Kesar had gone to market for some domestic work. He said while they were standing on the road, the accused travelling on a car and motorcycle came and started thrashing Rohan. They bundled him in an SUV and sped away from the spot.

Mohan Dass, SHO, Cantonment police station, said an immediate alert was sounded and car was intercepted at a naka. The boy was rescued and the accused were arrested. — TNS
