AMRITSAR: A woman of Fattbubilla village has accused her husband of trying to murder her. Navpreet Kaur, in her complaint to the police, said her husband Bikramjit Singh of Bhilowal village stabbed on her neck and also tried to strangulate her.

A woman of Fattbubilla village has accused her husband of trying to murder her. Navpreet Kaur, in her complaint to the police, said her husband Bikramjit Singh of Bhilowal village stabbed on her neck and also tried to strangulate her. The police have registered a case, but the accused is yet to be arrested.

Navpreet said she was married to the accused in September 2014. “After a few days of marriage, he started harassing me for dowry. He demanded a car from my father. When I, along with my husband, was returning on a bike after shopping on Thursday, he drove speedily and recklessly to make me fall down near the Vallah bypass,” she said.

According to her, Bikramjit “deliberately” rammed the bike into a car at near Fatehpur Rajputa. “Thereafter he stabbed my neck with a knife. When I cried for help, he tried to strangulate me. Later, he fled and the onlookers admitted me to a hospital at Vallah,” she claimed. — TNS
