Master Johar Singh again denied entry to Golden Temple

The SGPC task force didn’t allow the former president of the Chhota Ghallughara Gurdwara Management Trust, Qadian (Gurdaspur), Master Johar Singh, to enter the Golden Temple on the third day too.

However, he started cleaning up the entrance plaza of the shrine. He was not allowed to enter ‘jodha ghar’ and ‘langar hall’.

“I appeal to the Sikh Sangat to come forward and maintain ‘maryada’. How could they stop a devotee from performing sewa? Sikhs should come out to get the ‘Guru Ghar’ free from the clutches of the politically influential jathedars and SGPC officials,” he said.

The parallel jathedars, including Akal Takht acting jathedar Dhyan Singh Mand and Takht Damdama Sahib jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal had awarded him ‘tankhah’ (religious punishment) on October 12.

Master Johar Singh was held guilty as under his leadership, one of the management member, Buta Singh, was allegedly caught red-handed in an objectionable position with a woman on the gurdwara premises on August 11.

He was directed to perform ‘sewa’ at the Golden Temple for seven days.

He was to listen to the kirtan, clean footwear of devotees and wash dishes at langar hall for one hour each.

After performing this service for seven days, he was directed to schedule an ‘Akhand Path’ at Gurdwara Chhota Ghallugarh only to conclude with an offering of Rs 5,100 in the ‘golak’.
