AMRITSAR: Voice of Amritsar (VOA), a city-based NGO, carried out its third school bag distribution campaign at Government Primary School, Pandori Waraich, Majitha road.

Voice of Amritsar (VOA), a city-based NGO, carried out its third school bag distribution campaign at Government Primary School, Pandori Waraich, Majitha road.

A total of 225 school bags were distributed among children. Amandeep Singh of the NGO said, “Under the campaign, the VOA plans to distribute 1,000 school bags to the underprivileged children at several government schools.”

“In the previous two campaigns, we distributed about 350 bags at Government Elementary School, Sharifpura, and Satya Bharti Primary School at Chogawan,” said Gaurav Arora of the Voice of Amritsar.

“We promise to make this campaign a regular affair if we manage to raise funds,” said Dr Rakesh Sharma, founder-president of VOA.

Students, especially girls, were given special instructions to learn martial arts in order to evade assaults. They were also taught the methods to identify the problem,” said Seenu Arora, president, Voice of Amritsar.

The campaign was attended by Talbeer Singh, president, Majha Youth wing of the Shiromani Akali Dal.
