Nine magazines, three grenades seized

The 14th battalion of the BSF recovered nine magazines and three grenades from the its Khemkaran premises, 45 km from here, late yesterday evening.

The Khemkaran police have registered a case under Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act; and 4 and 5 of the Explosive Act.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ravi Shankar said the case was registered on the complaint of Commandant Varun Partap.

The ammunition was recovered during routine cleanliness by the BSF.

The BSFand the police have initiated separate inquiries into the incident.

ASI Ravi Shankar said the matter was under investigation.
