Notorious gangster, father-in-law nabbed

AMRITSAR: The city police have arrested a Tarn Taran-based notorious gangster, identified as Nishan Singh, son of Pargat Singh and a resident of Kulla viilage, which falls under the Bhikhiwind police station here.

The city police have arrested a Tarn Taran-based notorious gangster, identified as Nishan Singh, son of Pargat Singh and a resident of Kulla viilage, which falls under the Bhikhiwind police station here.

Along with him, the police also arrested his father-in-law Sukhwinder Singh alias Soni of Guru Nanak Colony. They recovered a car stolen by Nishan Singh from the Sarhali police station area in June. The police also recovered 15 gm heroin from their possession. Calling it a great success, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Investigations) Jagmohan Singh said, “Nishan Singh was wanted in many criminal cases, including two murder cases, an attempt to murder case, robbery and snatching cases. He along with his accomplices Mandeep Singh alias Manna, Love and Bunty used to loot cars on gun point from the Tarn Taran area. They were part of the Kanni gang. Sukhwinder Soni was also involved in many fraud cases and was wanted by the police.”
