RTI activist Parbodh Chander Bali has lodged a complaint against Cabinet Minister Anil Joshi for allegedly violating the election code of conduct by way of interfering and putting up stiff hindrance in the lawful compliance of a directive of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
At a press conference, he said the Cabinet Minister not only created hindrance but also threatened the executive officers and also created "political terror". He urged the Election Commission to take action against Joshi as per law.
He said the high court had passed orders to the Amritsar Improvement Trust and the Municipal Corporation Commissioner to demolish encroachments, especially from outside Joshi’s house and a hotel in the Ranjit Avenue area.
He said on Thursday when the Amritsar Improvement Trust authorities reached outside the hotel, Joshi reached there and favouring the encroachers, interfered in the working of the officers on duty. He allegedly used unparliamentary language and threatened the officials while they were performing their official duty.
He urged the chief electoral officer of Punjab to take necessary action against Joshi as per law.
