Virsa Singh Valtoha, former SAD MLA, has alleged the police pressure against the party candidates for the election of the Nagar Panchayat Khemkaran, 45 Kilometers, from here. Today, it was the last day of filing nomination papers for the election.
The SAD leader was addressing the newsmen at Khemkaran after filing nominations papers of all 13 candidates for the Nagar Panchayat elections today.
Valtoha said the border township Khemkaran has been converted into police cantonment and the police parties raided to the residences of all the party candidates last mid night.
He said the police took away Raman Dhawan—husband of Neelam Rani— party candidate from Ward No. 9 and her son Paras Dhawan from the residence without any reason.
