It is a wll known fact that relations between Sidhu couple and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are strained especially after former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned from Rajya Sabha to which he was nominated by the party high command. But, his wife Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu attended the Tiranga Yatra organised by the BJP as part of its grand plan of Independence Day celebrations.

Dr Sidhu’s participation in a public event in which BJP workers carrying party flags were seen moving by her side has left many people baffled.

Interestingly, the official press release issued by the local BJP unit too has sent her photographs. District BJP president Rajesh Honey and Dr Sidhu were seen moving on the same vehicle during the yatra.

In a press conference after her husband resigned from the Rajya Sabha, Dr Sidhu had stated that she had not left the party, but would follow her husband, whenever, he takes a decision to join another party. Her repeated outbursts against SAD had left the BJP red-faced on many occasions.

Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shwait Malik led the yatra in West constituency, which passed through various areas of Chehharta.

Former district president Naresh Sharma and west constituency in charge Rajesh Gill too attended the march. Speaking on the occasion Malik said the purpose of the yatra was to create awareness among youngsters about sacrifices of freedom fighters.

Cabinet Minister Anil Joshi also organised a motorcycle rally as part of the Tiranga Yatra in parts of his constituency. Joshi said party workers were spreading the message of national integration among the masses. He said youngsters were keen on participating in the event.
