Three-day workshop dwells on women empowerment

AMRITSAR: A three-day workshop on Capacity Building Programme of Women Managers in Higher Education was organised at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU).

A three-day workshop on Capacity Building Programme of Women Managers in Higher Education was organised at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU). 

The workshop was hosted by Punjab School of Economics of the university in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Over 40 participants from the various universities and colleges of the region participated on the event. During three days various themes like women and work, women and crime, academic leadership for the women, management of professional and personal responsibilities were discussed.

Dr Swati Mehta, assistant professor, Punjab School of Economics welcomed the guests and conducted the proceedings during the workshop. Prof Vinay Kapoor, commissioner, State Information Commission, Chandigarh; Prof Paramjit Nanda, Neetu Dua, Prof Anupama from Punjabi University, Patiala; Prof Renu Bhardwaj, Prof Avinash Nagpal and Prof Ravi Kiran from Thapar University, Patiala, expressed their views.
