Three snatchers nabbed

Three thieves were caught by residents of Bhikhiwind town, 35 km from here, last evening when they were fleeing from the spot after committing a snatching in the town.

The snatchers were handed over to the police. They have been booked under Section 379-B of the Indian Penal Code. The police said the accused had been identified as Mehar Singh, Jagjit Singh and Sakattar Singh of Mahneke village. The accused had snatched the mobile of Kulwinder Kaur, a resident of Dialpura village, who had come to the market of the township for shopping. Residents chased the snatchers when Kulwinder Kaur raised the alarm after the theft. TNS
