Amritsar, June 19
The Mehta police have arrested three persons for allegedly selling stolen tractor-trailer and farm equipment. Those arrested were identified as Lovepreet Singh, Daler Singh and Harjinder Singh, all residents of Khabbe Rajputa village.
A police team while patrolling in Jalal village got a tip-off that the accused, involved in stealing and selling farm equipment, were present at he grain market of the village, waiting for customers. A raid was conducted and Lovepreet and Daler, sitting on a tractor-trailer, were arrested. Initially, they tried to flee but were overpowered. Their accomplice Harjinder Singh, who was in a car, fled the scene but was arrested later.
A stolen tractor-trailer and a rotavator have been seized.
A case under Sections 379, 411 and 34 of the IPC has been registered against them. Meanwhile, Harpreet Singh of Rajinder Nagar was caught with a stolen bike. A case has been registered in this connection. — TNS
