Two killed in road mishap

Two men were killed in a road accident near Bhikhiwind, 35 km from here, last night.

Two men were killed in a road accident near Bhikhiwind, 35 km from here, last night. Their motorcycle was hit from the rear side by a car. The deceased have been identified as Rachhapal Singh (30) and Jaskaran Singh (25) of Mari Gaur Singh. Sub-Inspector (SI) Kashmir Singh, SHO, Bhikhiwind, said a case under Sections 304-A, 279 and 427 of the IPC had been registered against Nachhatar Singh, who was driving the car. Nachhatar is at large.

Robbery in shop

Two unidentified motorcycle-borne men robbed a shopkeeper of Rs 60,000 in Fatehbad, 20 km from here, on Tuesday evening. Gurpreet Singh, the victim, said he was at the godown of his shop when he saw two motorcycle-borne men standing outside the shop. One of the youth entered the godown and took out Rs 60,000 from the drawer. Gurpreet Singh raised the alarm but the robbers fled away in no time. The Goindwal Sahib police have registered a case under Sections 380 and 34 of the IPC. — OC
